Kindergarten Bound

Today I made Kahu's Kindergarten check up for next week. How exciting it is that he is starting to broaden his horizons. It is exciting news for me that I will be getting a few hours of sleep while he is gone. However it will be a sad day when he has to go to the doctor's to get caught up with his shots. He will be so mad but important part of growing up.
Good going Kahu.

Spikey

This is cute Kahu with his spiky hair. He doesn't like it spiky so for him to let me was a great feat. It didn't stay long because his hair is so long that it didn't stay. It is cute none the less.

Self-Reliance Expo

Mikhail was a vendor at the Self-Reliance Expo at the South Towne Expo Center a few weeks ago. The kids each got to go one to day to help Dad out. They both enjoyed it. Taya loved wearing the badge. It surely made her feel important and part of the booth. Kahu, of course, was a little bored but we found an activity for him to do. Lowes was there offering a kids activity that was free. So he made, with lots of help from Mom, his own kaleidoscope. It surely was fun for all.

Raspberry Patch 2

Raspberry Patch

We have found a raspberry patch in Payson to pick fruit. The kids enjoyed it and we got some really good raspberry jelly out of it too.

Updates

Well just a quick little update of what is happening here at our house.

Taya, just finished Kindergarten and now is a blossoming 1st grader. She is very excited to be in 1st Grade and eat in the cafeteria. She will be turning 6 on Saturday and we have some great surprises in store for her.Currently she is playing around with her first loose tooth. She is excited for it to finally come out and to send a note to the tooth fairy with her prize request. (It is 2 quarters!!! Woohoo) But she is doing well getting bigger and way to smart for her own good.

Kahu, our little ray of sunshine, is still a sweet instigator. He is an active 4 year old who loves to tease his sister and make her life somewhat miserable. He still likes to be a boy outside and loves to have private time with Dad fishing. He can't wait to go to school like Taya does but he will need to wait one more year for that.
Mikhail is still working on a few movies. He will be going camping with friends next week which is nice for me because I don't have to get him a Father's Day gift.
Other than those highlights we have little excitement everyday.

Fire

So this week has been a week for fire. Saturday I was having trouble finding my glue gun to finish some presents for that day. Searching my house and my moms, I had no luck finding it. Out of no were Kahu pipes in and says that he plugged Mommy's hot glue in the office. Seriously kid!?! Yup so I rushed home to find it plugged in exactly like he said. It probably had been plugged in for about 3 day. Luck for us it was on a metal base and not the carpet. That kid does the craziest things.
Then Sunday, Taya's teacher said how funny she is. That makes me really nervous because my kids would be the ones to divulge all our family secrets to their teachers. Well he told me that they were talking about Moses and the burning bush. He asked the kids what they think Moses said about it. Taya pipes in and says put water on it. So logical that one but really funny.
So needless to say fire was on our kids mind this week and no injuries happened thankfully.

New Things

Well since it has been almost a year I guess a little update is due.

Taya has started kindergarten. She loves going to school and having friends. It is very cute when she sees her friends and they walk and talk together like grown ups. Makes me all little sad to see my little girl growing up and being an individual. She is moving right along in her studies as well. We do have somethings to work on but they are things we have been working on for a while. But altogether she is a good little helper. She is surely like her father in that she always wants to help cut with a knife.

Kahu our little man is just a boy all the way around. He surely keeps me busy when we are home together. He is a very curious boy that gets into many things. But he likes to play and bat those big eyes at anyone that will give him what he wants. He is such a good kid with a large imagination.

Together the kids are healthy and happy. They keep us busy and on our toes. The things they come up still amaze me. They both are very independent by themselves and some times have trouble playing together and not being the boss all the time.
